Certification

SDBR membership gives access to premier Okinawan and Japanese martial arts practitioners in the world. Through a comprehensive certification program, members are able to have their ranks recognized internationally. A curriculum-based evaluation ensures that members have the training, knowledge, and skills required to competently represent their rank. This includes a comprehensive initial evaluation, with physical and written examinations, as well as continuing education. Through this approach, SDBR ensures that international standards are met and maintained.

Advanced Training

Members are provided with comprehensive educational opportunities to continue with advanced training in their arts. In addition, members have access to other lineages and arts as part of an important collateral training program. Structured curriculums are followed for teaching and evaluation for those interested in rank advancement.

SDBR holds regular seminars within the United States and internationally. At these events, Members have access to consultations and private sessions to further their training through personal, hands-on time with senior teachers in their arts. In partnership with SDBR affliated organizations, past international locations include Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and Peru.

Honbu Program

Members have access to a unique "uchi deshi"-type training for those interested in personally training with the Directors. This hands-on, intense training and coaching environment provides an opportunity to learn directly from the senior teacher and accelerate the educational process. Appreciating the many demands of our members, sessions are tailored to the individuals needs, abilities, and availability. The length of a visit ranges from a single full-day, to several days, to a full week, including participation in the honbu's regularly scheduled courses. The visitors fee will vary based on the duration and the activities associated within that visit.
